ABOUT US

SWE has been a club at the Downingtown STEM Academy for 3 years. Our club was originally created by 3 seniors who had an interest in engineering and wanted to spread their passion at school. As a SWE chapter, we have gone to various companies and universities to attend their engineering programs: Widener University, Lockheed Martin, Invent It, Build It Event in Philadelphia, and more. We have also done an outreach program at local elementary schools. We taught Kindergarten through 3rd graders about buoyancy and density through a foil penny boat experiment. As a club, we will continue to do more of these outreach activities more frequently, as well as go on more field trips and possibly have speakers come to STEM to talk to our chapter about engineering.
